Welcome!

Installation of Pr. Kristin-Luana and Pr. Olaf Baumann on February 24, 2024

As members of the body of Christ in this place and time, we are a welcoming congregation of people who gather to worship God, to share life together, to grow in love for each other and to be shaped by God’s Word, with the purpose of living out God’s love and being a sign of God’s loving and forgiving presence in our community and world. We hope you will join us!

Sermon News, April 21, 2024, John 10:11-18, Good Shepherd Sunday

Today, in our globalized economy, nobody cares much about building relationships. We consider a “good” shepherd someone who produces wool, cheese, and meat at the lowest cost. Whether the sheep are happy, or safe, simply doesn’t matter.

God-in-Christ, however, who is the Good Shepherd, enters into relationships with his flock that will never be dissolved. The Good Shepherd goes after every single sheep, no matter the issues, no matter the cost, because the relationship is the purpose of the enterprise. God’s love is unconditional in a way that fallen human beings cannot even imagine. Find out more about God’s love for you this Sunday, April 21 at 10 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front Street S, Issaquah, or on YouTube!

– Pr. Olaf

Together by Grace: Introducing the Lutherans Book Study

Please join us for a book study that comes from our national church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The study re/introduces us to the fundamental theology and practice of ELCA Lutheranism. Sessions are on Thursdays, either at noon (in-person) or at 7:00 p.m. (via Zoom).

For more information, visit our Christian Education page.

Invitation to Musicians

The Worship Planning team wishes to develop a calendar of special music, taking advantage of our many talented members, not just the Choir and Bell Choir.   If you are interested in bringing a special music offering, please contact Marilyn Carlson (text 206-499-9601 or email [email protected]) to be added to the calendar.

Global Missions Meeting

Painting Party on Friday, April 26th and Saturday, April 27th starting at 9:00 am

As you may be aware, in addition to fixing up the parsonage, we’ve been working on the Spirit of Peace (SOP) worship space too (after extensive water damage from a leaky roof). To keep the costs down, we’re asking for OSLC volunteers to help paint the SOP worship space this Friday and Saturday, April 26th and 27th from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., or any part thereof. The SOP folks will be there too, so it will be a great big paint party. Please email Rick West at [email protected] if you can help us out. Thank you and God bless!

Monthly Worship at Timber Ridge – 1st Thursday of the month, starting at 2:00 pm (100 Timber Ridge Way NW, Issaquah, WA 98027)

We are collaborating with St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Bellevue to serve monthly Communion services at the Timber Ridge senior living community in Issaquah. Between our two congregations, we have quite a few members who are residents there and would benefit from these in-person services. The services are open to all staff and residents, and will be held on the first Thursday of the month at 2:00 pm. Each congregation will alternate responsibility every other month for the service. Pastor Lara and Dr. Simpson from St. Andrews will lead the May 2nd service, then Pastors Olaf and Kristin-Luana Baumann will lead the June 9th service.

Cottage Meetings

Thank you to those who have already signed up to be a host or a guest for an upcoming Cottage Meeting. These one-time, small-group Cottage Meetings are an opportunity for fellowship and socializing with our new pastors. The hope is that every person who attends OSLC will have an opportunity to attend one. LaRue Nelson says there are a few spots left for guests at the Mountain Park and Mirrormont Cottage Meetings. She’s also looking for one more host at the end of May. Please call or text LaRue at 425-442-4639 to sign up.

“Let Us Build a House” – Parsonage Capital Campaign

Thanks to all who have helped to bring this asset of our congregation back to life to serve as a home for our new pastors. We ask that you consider contributing to the parsonage campaign, or making a second gift if you have already done so.
