On March 4th from 9:45-10:45 AM, three members of the congregation who recently traveled to the Sichuan province of China will share about their experiences. During their visit, they were received by multiple Chinese churches and learned about these vibrant faith communities. Come journey through them and discover what God is up to around the globe. This presentation takes place in the OSLC library. You can also get more information about the Lutheran church’s presence in China by visiting this link.

All pizzas are $15, and all proceeds go to support the Youth trip to the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans this summer. All orders need to be placed by January 29th, and paid for with cash or check. They will be made available as take-home ready to bake pizzas on Super Bowl Sunday (February 5th). Order a dozen and share them with friends. This is a great way to support our youth! OSLC Christmas Offering
Each year during the Christmas season at OSLC, we lift up our many blessings and give thanks by sharing the good gifts we receive with others. This year, our special Christmas offering goes to support the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Malaria Campaign. This campaign is dedicated to ending the threat of malaria to communities in various parts of Africa. Malaria is currently the number one killer in Africa, which is especially tragic because of how preventable it is. To join with others at OSLC in giving to this campaign, simply click on this link for the ELCA Malaria Campaign website, or bring your offering to worship at OSLC in an envelope that indicates that it is for the “ELCA Malaria Campaign.”

Gathering together, as a community of faith, during this season is a living tradition that fills our hearts and prepares us to receive the wondrous gift of the Christ child on Christmas morning! OSLC Advent Devotional 2011
For the four Sundays of Advent this year, OSLC is focusing on what it means to be a part of God’s family tree. To extend the conversation that we begin each week in Sunday morning worship, we have created a weekly take-home devotional. “Of Jesse’s Lineage: Being God’s Family” will take you and your family on a journey through characters in your biblical and contemporary families and help you experience more fully the coming of Jesus at Christmas. Each week, we take a look at Saints, Sinners, Strangers, and the Savior. The downloadable PDF includes four separate weekly pieces that can be printed out back-to-back. Download a copy by clicking on this link. This devotional can also be used in future seasons of Advent.
