Easter & Holy Week at OSLC

Come join us for Holy Week and Easter Morning worship at OSLC. From Palm Sunday on April 13 to the celebration of the Resurrection of Our Lord on April 20, the journey through Holy Week is both ancient and powerful. Children’s Song for Palm Sunday (April 13)

During the worship services on Palm Sunday (April 13th, 8:30 & 11:00 AM), all children are invited to join in singing with the OSLC Chancel Choir. At both services, they will be invited to come forward and join in. In preparation, families simply need to sing this song, “Lift Up Your Heads,” through until their children have memorized it. The song is very simple and will be easy for any child to learn.

Lent 2014: Tending to the Core

The Season of Lent begins each year on Ash Wednesday (March 5 for 2014) and takes us all the way up to the day of Easter (April 20 for 2014). This is a period of 40 days (not counting Sundays, which are considered a mini celebration of Easter each week) that reminds us of the 40 days that Jesus spent in the wilderness where he fasted and was tempted.

OSLC 2013 Advent Devotional

Each year at OSLC, we create an Advent devotional. This family-friendly resource is given out as the cover of our worship folder each week in Advent. The interior portion is designed for use with children and youth, and the back page has a devotional offering geared towards adults. In 2013, we focus on the first chapter of the Gospel of John discovering the ways that in Jesus God gives us the gifts of life, light, belonging and grace.

Midweek Community Campfires!!!

There is nothing quite like gathering around a campfire on a cool summer evening. Each Wednesday evening from July 24 through August 28, OSLC will hold a series of community campfires on the shores of Lake Sammamish. These campfires are relaxed and informal and include a simple evening worship service on the beach. Hot dogs, condiments, water, and SMORES are provided. Just bring yourself, a friend, and something to sit on. We gather beginning at 6:30 PM each Wednesday. All are welcome.

Summer Series: Community in Christ

During the summer months at OSLC, we are exploring the theme of Community in Christ. As it says in 1 Corinthians 12:27, we “are the body of Christ and individually members of it.” During our summer worship services, we are refreshed by this hopeful word. Each Sunday features a special reading on community, simple joyous music and prayer, and an opportunity for children to participate through artistic response. Come and be renewed by your connection to God’s works of love and mercy this summer.
