Two times each year, we hold this informal event intended for anyone interested in learning more about the life of this congregation and how they may formally join us in mission and ministry. This is a great opportunity for getting better acquainted with others who have been a part of our worshipping community for a while and with those who have been members for a long time. Continue reading »]]> Each Sunday in Lent this year (February 26 through March 28), there will be a table in the narthex inviting the congregation to participate in our School Kits Project that the Sunday School kids and families are doing through Lutheran World Relief. Everyone is invited to learn about the kits and take a bag home to fill and return. The kits are simple to make, and the table will take folks through the process allowing them to make a kit at church and to then go home and make some more as a family. This is an opportunity for the Sunday School kids to participate in both service and education. Check it out at the narthex table this Lent. Starting this year, the OSLC Youth Ministry Committee is offering summer camp scholarships to all children and youth who are members or active participants at OSLC. These scholarships cover half the cost of a week of camp at Camp Lutherwood in Bellingham, Washington. All you need to do is register for camp and fill out the simple OSLC Camp Scholarship form. These forms are available from the church office (office@oslcissaquah.org) and can be returned there, as well. For information on Camp Lutherwood programs visit www.camplutherwood.org. The designated camp week for OSLC is July 29-August 3. Pastor Fletcher will be there and some kids from OSLC have already signed up for that week, as well. You can also opt for other weeks on your own. Please stop by their table in the narthex and help them reach their goal of raising $10,000. If you have used books you would like to donate, please bring them to the church the week of March 12th. Continue reading »]]> Are you wanting to make connections with others interested in Christian spirituality, fellowship, and biblical study? OSLC has many opportunities for men and women of all ages. Here is a list of some of our active groups that you can get involved with:

- Midlife Spirituality Group: While mid-life means different things to different people, our mid-life group members are in their forties, fifties, sixties, and seventies. They meet monthly on a Sunday evening. Currently, they are reading and discussing The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. For more information contact Marilyn Larson (marilyn.larson@gmail.com).

- Thursday Morning Bible Study: This group is led by Pastor Thomas and meets weekly on Thursdays at 10 AM in the church library. Our study focus is The Gospel According to St. John. Copies of our text, John For Everyone (Part 1 Chapters 1-10) by N.T. Wright, are available from a variety of on-line vendors. - OSLC Book Club: The Book Club meets on Monday, May 14th at Raven’s Books in Gilman Village at 7:30 pm. Come join us for fun conversation while enjoying a warm beverage. Contact Marilyn Larson for more information including the current book selection (marilyn.larson@gmail.com).

- A Deeper Well: This gathering is a time to talk about faith and life and experience some refreshment for both body and soul. We meet at Sunset Ale House on Front Street (20 Front Street, next to Flying Pie Pizzeria and Front Street Market) on the last Tuesday of each month beginning at 8 PM. - Hope and Faith Circles: Hope and Faith Circles are monthly women’s Bible study groups that meet in participants homes. For more information, contact the church office (office@oslcissaquah.org).

- Women’s Fellowship Group: This group is made up mostly of women in their twenties, thirties, and forties. They are focused on building friendships and exploring Christian spirituality. Gatherings take place monthly on Sunday evenings. For more information, contact the church office (office@oslcissaquah.org).

Continue reading »]]> During the education hour on Sunday, March 18 and Sunday, March 25, Pastor Fletcher will lead a Communion Education Class. It is designed for second graders and older kids who have not previously attended. This class should be attended by students and at least one parent (other family member are welcome). Whether they are actively communing or not, all are encouraged to participate in this instruction. The class will take part in communion celebration with the rest of the congregation at the 11:00 a.m. worship service on Palm Sunday, April 1st with a special reception in their honor following the service in Anderson Hall. Join us on Sunday, March 11th at Sun Villa Lanes in Bellevue from 1:00-3:00 p.m. The cost is $10 and includes two hours of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and beverages. This event is for middle and high school youth (grades 6-12). Please sign up by March 4th on the sign-up sheet on the youth bulletin board and bring a friend!
