On Sunday, October 7, 2012 in both of our morning worship services (8:30 & 11:00 AM), OSLC will be joining with our wider community in the spirit of Salmon Days by celebrating God’s good gifts of creation with the Feast of Creation. This Sunday always falls close to the traditional date for celebrating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4th). St. Francis was known for his great love of the earth and all its creatures. On this day when our ancient traditions meet up with our contemporary community festivals, we find it a rich and joyous opportunity to give thanks for streams, salmon, forests, mountains, and all of God’s many blessings in our lives.
