Read with OSLC in Lent

Fresh Air

On Sunday, February 17th at 9:45 a.m. Pastor Thomas begins a new adult Sunday morning class. Based on the book Fresh Air: The Holy Spirit for an Inspired Life, by Jack Levison, Professor of New Testament Studies at Seattle Pacific University, this class will be an exploration of the Holy Spirit in Holy Scripture. We’ll read and discuss the stories of “Job’s Pledge,” “Daniel’s Discipline,” and “Simeon’s Song,” among others looking for ways the Spirit worked in the lives of our ancestors in faith to enlarge and enrich their relationships with God and others. Participants are encouraged to get a copy of the book, and read chapter 1, “Job’s Pledge” in preparation for the first class session. (Be sure to read the introduction and chapter 1 through page 41.) Copies of the book are available for purchase ($12.00 each) at OSLC and are also available from a variety of on-line vendors. You can also download a copy of the bookmark with the full reading schedule by clicking on this link.
