Welcome!

As members of the body of Christ in this place and time, we are a welcoming congregation of people who gather to worship God, to share life together, to grow in love for each other and to be shaped by God’s Word, with the purpose of living out God’s love and being a sign of God’s loving and forgiving presence in our community and world. We hope you will join us!

In Home Worship – Thursday, March 28, 2024 – Maundy Thursday

7:00 pm Maundy Thursday Worship

This Thursday, Pr. Olaf is the presiding minister, and Pr. Kristin-Luana is the preacher. Here is Thursday’s Sermon News:

Maundy Thursday – Luke 22:14-30

Did you know that there are meals with ʻeucharistic significanceʻ in the Gospels? The Feeding of the 5000 and the Walk to Emmaus are two of them. How are they connected to the Lordʻs Supper which we celebrate on Maundy Thursday the last time before Easter? Listen to the sermon and find out at 7 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 745 Front Street in Issaquah and on YouTube!

Together by Grace: Introducing the Lutherans Book Study

Please join us for a book study that comes from our national church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The study re/introduces us to the fundamental theology and practice of ELCA Lutheranism. Sessions will be on Thursdays, starting April 4th, either at noon (in-person) or at 7:00 p.m. (via Zoom).

For more information, visit our Christian Education page.

Community Meals Volunteer Opportunity

We have a robust Community Meals program at OSLC, serving meals on the second Tuesday and third Thursday of each month. While we have a good supply of cooks and bakers, we could use a few more willing to transport the food to the Community Center and serve the meals. Transport time begins at 4 p.m., and you will generally be finished by about 6:30 p.m. If you have a heart to serve the hungry in this way, please reach out to Marilyn Carlson (text 206-499-9601 or email [email protected]) to be added to the roster.  Many hands make light work!

Learn about Bali’s Unique Religious Beliefs on Sunday, April 14

Join Ken Konigsmark and his friend visiting from Bali, Kadek Widiantara, on Sunday, April 14 at 11:15 a.m. in Anderson Hall for a presentation on the fascinating religious beliefs, traditions, and ceremonies core to the “Island of the Gods” culture and society. Balinese Hinduism is a mix of Hinduism with indigenous animist customs that integrates many of the core beliefs of Hinduism and Buddhism with the arts and rituals of the Balinese people. Learn how Balinese life revolves around ceremonies and community while exploring how their beliefs align with or differ from our own Christian faith.
